Scales are at the core of instrumental practice. Many musicians begin with a one-octave major scale and progress to more octaves, scale types, and patterns. The complexity increases significantly for string players due to various fingerings. Having a reliable reference is always beneficial - enter ScaleMaster!

The app features a master list of scales categorized by name and type, with an automatic notation display for easy reference. Different scale types are visually differentiated through light text coloring and scale type indicators. Scale configurations can be saved and shared in exercise documents tailored to specific instruments, complete with position details and the option for instrument recordings with adjustable speed for play-along exercises. Additional playback functions like count-in and auto-reverse enhance the user experience.

For improvising musicians, understanding the chord/scale relationship is crucial. ScaleMaster simplifies this by filtering 211 scales by 41 common chord structures, ensuring all resulting scales contain essential chord tones. The notation view highlights chord tones in red and showcases the chord symbol below the scale title, providing an enriched palette for improvisation.

What truly sets ScaleMaster apart is its exceptional support for music notation, accommodating double sharps or flats, along with clear indication of half-tone (semitone) steps. The app offers additional useful features such as clef adjustments and tuning options for string instruments.
